My Favorite Open Source Tools

A collection of open source tools I use for various tasks. For a lot of others I’ve moved to free cloud based applications.

FileZilla – a free FTP solution. Very Good, what I use all the time for ftp file transfer.

Wappalyzer – a browser extension that uncovers the technologies used on websites. It detects content management systems, web shops, web servers, JavaScript frameworks, analytics tools and many more.

PeaZip – All in one utility to extract, create and convert all most popular archive formats (150+). The interface looks great and doesn’t have annoying messages like 7-zip.

VLC media player – VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files as well as DVD, Audio CD, VCD, and various streaming protocols.
